The combination of increasing surface heating, elevated moisture, and increasing atmospheric life from an approaching mid level disturbance induced increasing storm development. The main focus of heavier rain was on the south shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Slow storm movement and moderate to heavy rain rates resulted in multiple areas of flash flooding across New Orleans Metro.
