A back-bent inverted trough and associated surface low pressure system resulted in increased moisture advection and rounds of showers and thunderstorms from the western Gulf of Mexico inland into Cameron, Willacy, and Kenedy County on October 4-5, 2024. This resulted in flooding in Los Fresnos, Texas on October 5, 2024.
