An upper-level trough was situated such that strong ascent will be supported. While the strongest surface forcing is farther west, enough convection initiated and moving eastward into the CWA. While staying discrete at first, it quickly developed into a MCS. Through the middle of the night a cohesive cold pool developed and generated 2 80+ mph wind gust reports.
