A trough provided lift for showers and thunderstorms to develop while plenty of moisture ensured heavy rain would accompany these storms. Five and a half inches of rain fell in Wrentham over a three hour period. This nearly two inch per hour rainfall rate resulted in flooding across Norfolk county.
