A significant run of water and ice along with an ice jam that extended 10 miles up river of Marshall produced moderate flooding in the village of Marshall. By the morning of the 19th, water was getting into the low parts of the village and the road to the airport was beginning to flood. A large surge of water and ice moving down the Yukon River produced minor flooding at Anvik. Water levels started to rise at about 8:30 pm on the 16th, and water was covering Front Street in the village. Two homes had basement flooding.

A strong front moved through the Panhandle on the morning of Tuesday August 18th. This system had abundant amount of moisture associated with the cold front as the system originated from the North Pacific and was able to tap into tropical moisture.
