A line of thunderstorms developed near a cold front and became oriented west to east across southern Meigs and northern Gallia Counties during the evening. Repetitive downpours in the muggy air dumped 2 to 4 inches of rain in a few hours. Flash flooding was seen along vulnerable roads and into fields.
