While a slow moving cold front eased south across southern Ontario, a 30-mile wide band of showers and thunderstorms developed over Western New York. Initially the thunderstorms produced heavy rains. Over parts of Genesee county, two to three inches of rain fell in less than two hours. Roads were reported flooded and closed in Batavia, LeRoy and Stafford.
