A strong mid level disturbance in the winds aloft caused showers and thunderstorms to form and expand over southern West Virginia as the new month began. The convection moved north and northwest. Movement was only around 15 to 20 mph and repetitive cells affected small portions of Wayne County.||Another round of showers and thunderstorms moved northeast through the western counties of West Virginia during that evening.
