A slow moving area of low pressure traveled southwest to northeast across northern New York on June 10 to 11, producing a swath of rainfall in excess of 3 inches over northern Franklin County and western Clinton County. Previous rainfall had saturated soils and elevated river levels beginning in late May. Rain ended on June 11, however rivers continued to flood through June 12.
