A very moist air mass and persistent troughing along the east coast lead to another round of scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms. An increase in deep layer shear as an upper level disturbance tracked near the area lead to better organization of the convection and therefore numeorus storms became severe and produced damaging wind gusts.
