The same general pattern remained in place on the 6th that had been in place for the past several days, with a strong upper trough over the center of the country and a strong upper high over the western Atlantic, combining to continue the moist flow into the Southeast. A line of showers and thunderstorms developed in eastern Alabama during the afternoon and moved into northwest Georgia, causing isolated flash flooding.
