Copious amounts of tropical moisture ahead of dissipating former tropical storm Ivo streamed into southwestern Arizona on the 24th, and this led to a very moist and unstable airmass. Thunderstorms with heavy rain occurred during the evening hours, and the rain led to localized flooding and flash flooding which affected communities such as Somerton, Yuma and the Fortuna Foothills.
