A weak cold front dropping south through the region was the focus for afternoon and evening convection. High precipitable water values combined with weak shear to produced slow moving thunderstorms and very heavy rain. An area of thunderstorms training over the Hiram area of Oxford County produced 2 to 3 inches of rain in 2 hours causing road flooding and washouts.
