Flood — Caledonia, VT

Low pressure and a warm front moved out of the central US and across the northeast on January 11 and 12. Temperatures rose above freezing late on January 10, and rose to near 50 degrees during the day Saturday. Three quarters to 1.5 inch of rain fell across Vermont on Saturday. Runoff from rainfall and snowmelt caused rivers to rise and break up the ice cover. Ice jams formed on several rivers and produced localized flooding.
