During the afternoon of the 28th, near a stationary front, thunderstorms moved across southeast Kentucky. They continued into far western Virginia and finally into extreme southern West Virginia. Large hail briefly fell in McDowell County.||Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms fell overnight and during the morning on the 29th.
