Record heat over the mountainous counties helped form convection in a moist environment during the early afternoon. Cells were slow moving. New clusters of convection continued to form during the late afternoon into the evening hours on the periphery of earlier convection. ||Some slow moving and small repetitive cells caused localized downpours.
