A cold front triggered thunderstorms on the evening of June 25 across the Berkshires. These storms trained over northern Berkshire County, producing torrential rainfall with as much as four inches accumulating in a short time. This rainfall resulted in flash flooding, first in the town of North Adams. The flooding water washed out Fisk Street and Gould Road. The rain also washed out culverts on East Hoosic and Friend Streets as well as West Road. There were also major washouts on Randall Street
