Strong afternoon thunderstorms dropped three to four inches of rain on a small portion of western Wyoming and northeast Cattaraugus counties. This resulted in flash flooding and rapid rises on Buffalo Creek. At least 50 homes were flooded in Wyoming county with twelve severely damaged. Java, Machias and Sheldon declared States of Emergency. Driveways and road shoulders were washed away. Many roads were closed by flood waters and debris.
