Heavy rainfall of 6 to 10 inches across Menard, McCulloch, and San Saba counties caused the San Saba River to climb out of its banks. The river crested near Menard on the afternoon of the 3rd at the flood stage of 18.0 feet. The river crested near San Saba just after midnight on the 4th at 29.7 feet, or 5.7 feet above flood stage.
