Heavy rain and showers caused minor stream flooding and ponding of roadways on the Kona side of the Big Island. This event also produced excessive soil runoff at the Hokulia real estate development project in Kealakekua, with a cost to developers of up to $400,000. Localized environmental damage was also be assessed.

A slow-moving surface trough, heading east to west, and an upper disturbance triggered heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms that caused flash flooding in some instances. Damages occurred to public and private property, including roads and bridges washed out.
