An upper level trough axis extended from central Iowa through central Missouri with low pressure at the surface in central Missouri on June 7, 2014. This spread a large area of showers and embedded thunderstorms into extreme northeast Missouri during the afternoon. There was locally heavy rainfall reported with a trained spotter measuring 2 inches near the Charlie Heath Memorial Conservation area.
