Flash Flood — Oxford, ME

Heavy rain from a series of thunderstorms fell in steep terrain and caused flash flooding. Rainfall estimates from Doppler RADAR indicated that 6 to 8 inches of rain fell in 3 hours. The most damage occurred in Bethel where a reservoir on Chapman Brook was destroyed. This reservoir was the public water supply for Bethel.
