Flash Flood — Luna, NM

Sep 11, 2002

A second supercell prowled the Mexican border between Hachita and Columbus, forcing the closure of Highway 9 along this stretch due to flash flooding. Cars were stalled and a Ford F150 pickup was washed off the road. Outflow just northeast of the storm was estimated at 65 to 70 mph. A funnel cloud was observed near Columbus.
