A warm and humid air mass was in place across the region on the afternoon of July 2nd with a stationary front to the west of the region. This set the stage for showers and thunderstorms which produced very heavy rain. One to three inches of rain fell in less than 2 hours across eastern New Hampshire. This caused several road washouts in Freedom New Hampshire.
