A low pressure system located over southern Ontario along with surface boundaries in the vicinity of northeast Pennsylvania resulted in severe thunderstorms during the late afternoon and evening hours. These storms developed in an unstable airmass with severe thunderstorms producing torrential rainfall and flooding.
