Hurricane Jeanne made landfall on the east coast of Florida near Stuart on the evening of September 25. Jeanne weakened to a tropical storm over central and northwest Florida on September 26. Maximum sustained winds reached 42 knots at the USAF C-Tower in the northeast Gulf of Mexico.
