Record flooding of the Lower Wabash River occurred, prompting local emergency declarations in Posey and Gibson Counties. Floodfighting activities included the construction of temporary sandbag levees. A number of lowland residents were evacuated. A total of 43 residents in Gibson County were evacuated, including those along the White and Patoka Rivers.
