Tropical Storm Arlene dumped heavy rain across Central Alabama generally from June 10th through June 12th. The runoff affected the river stages through June 17th. The heaviest rainfall of 2 to 5 inches, with isolated amounts up to 8 inches, occurred over the western half of Central Alabama. The heavy rain amounts primarily affected the Tombigbee, Lower Black Warrior and Sucarnoochee River Basins where mainly minor flooding occurred.
