Hurricane Dennis's local effects were widespread across central Alabama. Storm total rain amounts were generally 3 to 6 inches west of Interstate 65 with isolated higher amounts. Areas east of Interstate 65 received 1 to 3 inches of rain with isolated higher totals, especially near the Alabama/Georgia state line. Many counties experienced flash flooding.
