Heavy rain, associated with the remnants of Hurricane Dennis (moving north-northwest through western Alabama and eastern Mississippi), affected nearly all of north and central Georgia from the afternoon of Sunday July 10th through the morning hours of Monday July 11th. Initially, the rain was widespread light to moderate. Rainfall amounts between 4 pm and 8 pm averaged one to two inches across most of the area.
