Showers and thunderstorms developed across Massachusetts in a hot and humid airmass ahead of a weak cold front during the afternoon and evening hours of 14 August 2005. These thunderstorms produced damaging wind gusts, large hail, and flash flooding. The hardest hit counties include Hampden, Franklin, Worcester, and Plymouth.
