A slow moving trough over eastern New Mexico and western Texas interacted with a stationary frontal boundary and plenty of gulf moisture across West Central Texas to produce copious amounts of rain from August 14 through August 16. The upper trough of low pressure produced several disturbances and enhanced the low level jet to trigger showers and thunderstorms across the western half of West Central Texas.
