A vigorous, closed upper low across the Great Lakes on the 18th delivered an occluded front into New York and Vermont during the evening of the 18th. This front tapped into Atlantic moisture and developed an area of heavy rain showers and thunderstorms with some training echoes during the evening of the 18th.
