Steady rain began near dawn on the 10th in southeast Ohio. This was associated with a warm front. By late afternoon, rain amounts over an inch were becoming common in Gallia and Lawrence Counties. Less rain fell further to the north. Several small streams were still running well above normal before the rain even began. Minor flooding along small streams occurred in the usual flood prone areas along roads. Final rainfall totals by late night were mostly 1.2 to 1.4 inches in Lawrence and Gall

Warm frontal rains of 1.5 to 2.5 inches were common in about an 18 hour period on the 21st. McArthur measured 2.27 inches, Gallipolis had 2 inches. Isolated amounts over 3 inches were likely. Roads were closed in the usual low spots by overflowing small streams.

An arctic cold front approached and passed through the area February 3rd into February 4th. Multiple waves of low pressure moved along this front, allowing for a slow moving system which provided plenty of rainfall, heavy at times, to the Ohio Valley.
