Several roads across southern Jefferson county were closed due to high waters as 4 inches of rain fell between 11 pm est May 25 and 11 am est May 26. Area creeks were already backed up due to the near-flooded Ohio River. 50 residents of a nursing home on Dixie Highway had to be relocated when a sump pump failure allowed the halls to be filled with water. Several roads were closed into the evening hours.
