A weakening tropical storm Fran produced flash flooding across the western half of Maryland during the afternoon of the 6th. The system was downgraded to a depression prior to moving across the far western border during the early evening of the 6th. Flash flooding was most acute in Frederick, Washington, and Allegany Counties, where 3 to 5 inches of rain fell in general. A cooperative observer in Frostburg (Allegany Co) recorded 6.33 inches.No deaths or injuries were attributed to Fran's remn
