Flash Flood — Yuba, CA

Jan 2, 1997

A large levee break on the Feather River occurred as river flows equaled or exceeded the design parameters for the levee system. The results were 900 flooded homes and many people stranded on the roofs of homes and other high areas. Emergency crews made numerous boat and helicopter rescues during the morning of the 3rd.
