The Blanchard River at Findlay exceeded its flood stage of 11 feet and crested at 15.5 feet at 1000 on 06/02/97. Local police used boats to ferry residents to and from their homes along the river when access was cut off due to the flooding. US Route 68 was closed as well as St. Rts. 236 and 568. The Red Cross used Findlay High School as a shelter and housed 60 people while another 106 people stayed at local hotels. The only north-south road open near Findlay for 14 hours was Interstate 75, w
