Clusters of thunderstorms moving through Central New York set up along a west to east corridor across the middle portion of Broome county. These storms produced incredible rainfall rates in excess of 4 inches per hour. Localized rainfall amounts were in the 2 to 3 inch range, and much of this rainfall fell within 1 to 1.5 hours on the evening of May 18th. Several areas of washed over roads and extensive ponding of water were reported throughout the Triple Cities.
