Thunderstorms on April 22 produced excessive rainfall across the Kansas City metro area, resulting in flash flooding in Jackson and Platte Counties, as well as urban and small stream flooding in Clay County. Kansas City International Airport reported 1.82 inches of rain in 2 hours, and a total of 2.26 inches for the day. The downtown Kansas City airport also received over 2 inches of rain. Media sources reported water up to car windows and water damage inside a restaurant in Westport. Report
