Tropical Storm Gabrielle made landfall just before noon on September 9th at Cape Lookout National Seashore with a central pressure of 1007 mb and maximum storm surge of 3 ft. Maximum sustained winds were near 43 knots (50 mph). The storm moved north-northeast and exited the northern Outer Banks near Kill Devil Hills in the evening.
