In a northwest flow aloft, clusters of showers and thunderstorms formed during the evening hours on the 12th. Storms were along a weak front, and ahead of a weak low pressure system in southern Ohio. The clusters of showers and thunderstorms became aligned northwest to southwest along the flow. Two distinct areas of heavy rain occurred.
