Heavy rain from thunderstorms lead to flash flooding across portions of Pulaski and Jackson counties during the late afternoon and evening hours of July 1, 2015. A brief, and quite unexpected, tornado touched down briefly in Pulaski county. A funnel cloud from the same storm/shower that produced the tornado was sighted in Whitley county later in the evening.
