Warm temperatures and extreme snow melt and ice jams caused flooding of the Sagavanirktok (Sag) River for portions of the Dalton Highway and northward to the Deadhorse airport.|Several construction pads south of the airport were flooded on the west side of the highway. The most severe flooding occurred between milepost 391 and 413. The Deadhorse airport is located at milepost 414. Excessive snow melt caused flooding on the Kuparuk river at Kuparuk June 1st into June 2nd. The roads in Kuparuk were flooded with 18 inches of water at the height of the flooding, according to security personnel. The water level dropped on the afternoon of the 1st.

Water levels rose on the Colville River at Colville as snow melt from the Brooks Range entered the river. The airport runway was under water, and water moved as high as the foundation of the warehouse near the airport.
