A nearly stationary frontal boundary across central New York State gradually moved east during Thursday afternoon on September 27th. With a very warm, moist and unstable air mass in place to the east of this boundary, scattered strong to isolated severe thunderstorms developed across portions of eastern New York State Thursday afternoon and evening.||Some of these thunderstorms contained locally torrential rain, which led to isolated flash flooding.
