A moist and humid air mass south of a cold front was over the area. A vorticity lobe kicked off a line of thunderstorms that moved over the area. A few discrete thunderstorm cells developed during the afternoon hours, one of which took on supercellular characteristics and produced some minor wind damage in Putnam County.
