Considerable amounts of tropical moisture associated with former Tropical Storm Newton spread across the southwest and south-central Arizona deserts during the morning hours on September 7th. The moisture led to widespread light to moderate showers along with embedded thunderstorms. The thunderstorms enhanced rainfall totals which resulted in episodes of small stream flooding across the southwest deserts.
