After the storms moved offshore into the Gulf of Mexico, strong pressure falls were observed over South Texas, with strong pressure rises noted over the Gulf waters. This produced strong easterly winds across the Coastal Bend and adjacent waters. Wind gusts ranged from 50 to 60 mph. As a result, brief but significant coastal flooding occurred over portions of the Middle Texas coast.
