A weak surface and mid-level wave moved across Vermont in a moderately unstable (very cool aloft) air mass during the afternoon of July 17th. Scattered thunderstorms developed with a few containing large hail (> .75 inch in diameter) and some winds. Heavy rain additionally produced some isolated Flash Flooding.
