Strong to severe thunderstorms developed along and ahead of a cold frontal boundary as it moved through eastern New York and western New England. Prior to convective initiation, a Tornado Watch (#461) was issued for the western Adirondacks and Mohawk Valley and a Severe Thunderstorm Watch (#463) was issued for much of eastern New York and western New England. These storms resulted reports of flash flooding in western Massachusetts.
